2013 Aggiornamento Award Recipient Announced

For the last twenty years Sister has been employed by Renewal Ministries, a Catholic evangelistic organization, based in Ann Arbor, MI.  Sister has participated in evangelistic missionary work in 30 some countries giving retreats, parish missions, and conferences.  She is also the host of a popular daily radio program, Food for the Journey, heard over 100 Catholic radio stations in the US and available online at renewalministries.net

Sister Ann Shields was born in Lewistown, PA in 1939, the oldest of four children. She graduated from high school, Mount Aloysius Academy, Cresson, PA, in 1957, and entered religious life that same year.  A teacher for seventeen years in grade schools, high schools and college, and serving as a college campus minister, Sister Ann, in 1975, was invited to Franciscan University of Steubenville to join a team gathered by Father Michael Scanlan to create a deeper environment of faith on campus.  As an editor for New Covenant Magazine, Sister wrote on topics of spiritual growth, authoring, in addition, with Father Michael Scanlan, TOR, And Their Eyes were Opened.
