Past Aggiornamento Award Recipients

2007

The Parish and Community Library Services Section honored Reverend Andrew M. Greeley as the 28th recipient of the Aggiornamento Award at the Aggiornamento Award Breakfast on Wednesday, April 11 at 8:00 AM in Harbor View I Room of the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel. The Aggiornamento Award recognizes the renewal of parish and community life in the spirit of Blessed John XXIII.

2006

Michael Brough RENEW International has been named the 2006 Aggiornamento Award recipient. RENEW International fosters spiritual renewal, evangelization, and the transformation of the world through parish-based small Christian communities. Its parish renewal process and small Christian community materials offer spiritual formation and motivation to help people courageously live out their faith and give witness to Jesus Christ through training, materials, and a network of pastoral support.

Director, Michael Brough, accepted the award at the Aggiornamento Award Breakfast on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 in Atlanta.

2005

Edwina GateleyEdwina Gateley is dedicated to following the call of God in her life.

Following this call has taken her to the teaching and mission fields of East Africa, sojourning into the Sahara Desert, and the wilderness to pray. Gateley established a school for girls in Uganda, founding the Volunteer Missionary Movement, befriending and ministering to the prostitutes and street people of Chicago. Again, putting the Good News into action, Gateley established Genesis House, a place of nurturing and healing for women trapped in lives of prostitution. She is dedicated to spreading the message that "God Is with Us."

Edwina Gateley is a poet, theologian, artist, writer, lay minister, and modern-day mystic. She is a prophet in the true sense of the word. She currently ministers to prostitutes and street people in Chicago. Gateley holds a Masters in Theology, and certification as an HIV Counselor.

Edwina speaks at workshops, conferences, and retreats in the USA, Canada, Britain, and Ireland.
