Cyberbullying is Topic of Discussion at Wisconsin Chapter Fall Conference
Thursday, 15 July 2010 15:23

WI_mapDr. Patchin is an associate professor of criminal justice at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and is co-director of the Cyberbullying Research Center (www.cyberbullying.us). He has written numerous articles on adolescent behaviors online and co-authored the new book, Bullying Beyond the Schoolyard: Preventing and Responding to Cyberbullying (Sage Publications).

In addition to Dr. Patchin's presentation, Merri Lindgren, a librarian at the Cooperative Children's Book Center at UW-Madison, will discuss the newest books for children and young adults in two sessions; titles for young adults from 9-9:45 a.m. and those for children from 10-10:45 a.m.

Children's book author Cathy Stefanec Ogren's topic from 11-11:45 a.m. is entitled, “The New Look of Today's Authors.”

There will be plenty of time for networking and discussion, along with shopping from two book vendors during the breaks.

Advance registration is only $30 for members. Continental breakfast and lunch are included in the fee.  Registration at the door, and for non-members, is $35. Annual dues in WCLA are just $15.

Nightly rates for a room with two queen beds at the Wintergreen Resort & Conference Center are $70. For more information, or to be added to the conference e-mail list, contact Jean Elvekrog at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
