World Book Award
This award was established by World Book, Inc. (formerly Field Enterprises Educational Corporation) in 1973.
The award provides an annual grant of $1500 for the purpose of establishing scholarships for continuing education in school or children's librarianship. The grant, administered by the CLA Scholarship Committee, may be divided among no more than three recipients.
Any national CLA member interested in gaining added proficiency in school or children's librarianship is eligible.
Each applicant must submit to the CLA Scholarship Committee a completed application describing the proposed program of study (attendance at special workshops, institutes or seminars; summer sessions at institutions of higher learning; sabbaticals), including a statement of expenses (tuition, room and board, travel) relative to the applicant's program of study. The grant will not be given for a library science degree. Applications may be downloaded or obtained by writing to:
